Everett Mountaineers Classic Eight Peaks

Forbidden, Eldorado, and Baker from Mt. Logan

The Everett Mountaineers have recognized the following as their "Classic Eight Peaks". We were fortunate to have climbed Dome Peak on our Ptarmigan Traverse in 1999 -- it seemed much more pleasant to combine the climb with the traverse and then descend the Bachelor Creek and Downey Creek Trails than to fight one's way up those neglected trails and ford Bachelor Creek just to climb Dome Peak.

"... the initial problem was the impenetrable jungle of deadfall and matted undergrowth over which and through which the climbers had to struggle. The arduous bushwacks, where climbers were frequently suspended above the ground by the undergrowth, provided a heightened sense of isolation and adventure."

- Chris Jones, Climbing in North America
