Route: Dead Horse Rim from Dead Horse Lake
Begin near the south shore of Dead Horse Lake at the gate on the road circling
the lake. This gate may be closed. Hike the road about 0.25 mile west to the Lakes Loop Trail
on your left. Hike this trail 0.75 mile up to the ridge.
Turn right and follow an access trail towards Dead Horse Rim Trail 0.25 mile distant.
Just before reaching Dead Horse Rim Trail the summit of Dead Horse Rim is on your left near a
small rock outcropping. Total round-trip distance is about 2.5 miles with a 700 foot elevation gain.
